The ballots have been cast for the 2014 NFL Pro Bowl, and the selections are very thin with Indianapolis Colts.

Only one member of the Colts has been selected to this season’s Pro Bowl. OLB – Robert Mathis will be representing Indianapolis, but as of yet, he will be the only horseshoe in Hawaii next year. Still, it’s a shame that a team who could win 11 games, only has one All-Star on their roster.

Mathis, a 5th round pick in the 2003 NFL Draft, is having a career season. The 11-year veteran has a career-high 17.5 sacks this season, as well as eight forced fumbles. Mathis is making a case for defensive player of the year, but still has other teammates who could be considered for the Pro Bowl roster.

The fact that the Colts may have been snubbed in the Pro Bowl could end up being beneficial. This team isn’t really being considered as a power in the AFC, even though they were the first NFL team to secure a division title. Indianapolis could enter the NFL Playoffs with a chip on their shoulder, and that could end up being a very good thing.
