The Colts announced today that linebacker Pat Angerer has been placed on Injured Reserve and therefore will not play again this season or during the playoffs. Angerer was a healthy scratch last week when the Colts played Houston, but Angerer has been battling an injury to his right knee all season long. He is currently ranked fourth on the team in tackles.
Angerer also missed multiple games last season and had offseason foot surgery. In 2011, Angerer led the team with 148 total tackles and at one point that year was leading the entire league in that category.
With Angerer’s departure, the Colts now have a league-high (tied for first) 14 players on Injured Reserve. Running back Shaun Draughn was signed to Angerer’s roster spot.
