Peyton Manning Clinches AFC South Title for Colts

No, this isn’t a republished story from the archives. Peyton Manning hasn’t played a single snap for Indianapolis since 2010, but on Sunday he clinched the AFC South division title for the Colts for the eighth time, even though he is no longer a part of the team and is instead the leading NFL MVP candidate as a member of the Denver Broncos.

The Colts, now led by sophomore quarterback Andrew Luck, needed either a win against Cincinnati or a loss by the Tennessee Titans to clinch the division title in Week 14 and secure a spot in the playoffs. The Colts could not take care of things on their own, falling 42-28 to the Bengals, but Manning’s Broncos helped them out. Denver soundly defeated the Titans, 51-28, and Manning threw for 397 yards and 4 touchdowns. He clinched a playoff berth for Denver as well, who currently has the best record in the AFC.

The Colts are going to the playoffs again and are the division Champions. Number 18 is still giving back.
