Surprising Roster Move for Indianapolis Colts

The NFL is a tough business.
On Monday, the Indianapolis Colts made a surprising roster move, by waiving DE-Lawrence Guy. The decision to let Guy go seems a bit sudden, considering the game-changing contribution that the third-year player made on special teams for the Colts last Sunday. Against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, Guy blocked a field goal kick from K-Steven Hauschka, which was returned for a touchdown by S-Delano Howell. Guy’s special teams play against the Seahawks helped spark an amazing comeback from the Colts, on their way to a 34-28 win.
Guy has been on and off of the Colts’ roster since October of last year. Guy was initially taken in the 7th round (233rd overall) of the 2011 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers, and has also spent time on the practice squad for the Washington Redskins. as a member of the Colts, Guy totaled 25 tackles and one sack in 11 games, but his field goal block against the Seahawks on Sunday may have saved the game for his team.
