The Indianapolis Colts will be without TE-Dwayne Allen for the remainder of the 2013 season.

Allen went down with a hip injury during the Colts’ week one victory over the Oakland Raiders, and will require season-ending surgery. The Colts’ head coach Chuck Pagano announced Allen’s injury issue during his Wednesday press conference. Allen, one of the highest-rated tight ends in the 2012 NFL Draft class,  has dealt with various injuries, since being drafted by the Colts last season.

When Allen went down during week one, there were hopes that his hip injury was minor. The announcement of his season-ending surgery is a major blow to the Colts offense. Indianapolis has been riddled with injuries during this early season, and will miss Allen’s blocking and receptions.
