Due to injuries, the Indianapolis Colts had to make some moves, in order to prepare the roster for week three.

The Colts have placed guard Donald Thomas on the Injured Reserve List, as well as waiving fullback Dan Moore from Injured Reserve. Thomas went down with a quadriceps injury to his right leg against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. Moore was signed by the Colts as a free agent in April of this year, but was yet to see the field.

Thomas was brought in through free agency this March, and was the starting left guard on the Colts’ roster. Rookie Hugh Thornton replaced Thomas on Sunday, and may be asked to fill in for him for the rest of the season. Thornton was initially drafted at the right guard position. Thornton’s move to left guard will be a test in adversity for himself, but will also put pressure on right guard Mike McGlynn. The Colts drafted Thornton, and picked up Donald Thomas, to boost an offensive line which was already shaky from last season. Indianapolis will need these big guys to play big, or they may find themselves coming up short.
