Overslept the waiver wire?

Did you start Stevan Ridley AND David Wilson last week?

Bench the Patriots defense for Week 2 and your face looks like this?

Have no fear! If you have Colts players on your fantasy roster for this weeks clash against the Dolphins! I will now be incorporating a silver star in my fantasy columns which indicate the best fantasy option that is going against the Colts.

* Star: Colts D/ST

The Colts defense didn’t have the best of showing last week against the Raiders. They allowed over 300 yards as well as 17 points. Although they had only one sack, they had two interceptions, they came away with the win and in formats that give 5 points for defensive wins, that’s a positive. In base point leagues, the Colts only had a mere five points last week but face a better chance at more points against Miami. The Colts struggled defensively because they had no answer for a mobile quarterback in Terrelle Pryor. This time around, they face a Dolphins team that doesn’t have a mobile quarterback and a running game that laid a huge egg last week against Cleveland. If the Dolphins are to put up points, they will have to do it through the air which may play well to the new Colts secondary.  The Dolphins offensive line also allowed four sacks on Tannehill and isn’t the same without Jake Long in the trenches. Start the Colts if you’re unsure about starting a defense like Denver or San Francisco who play against game teams with top-notch quarterbacks in Eli Manning and Russell Wilson.

** Star: Reggie Wayne

It’s a bit of a shocker putting Reggie Wayne as a two star fantasy option but I did for good reason. Brent Grimes, although coming off a torn achilles, is still a very good shutdown corner. I imagine he’d spend the majority of the game blanketing Reggie Wayne which could see more production for T.Y Hilton and Darrius Heyward-Bey against the other Dolphins defensive backs who are reeling with injuries. Reggie is still a must start due to his talents but if you have better options such as an AJ Green and/or Andre Johnson, I’d rather stick to those players.

*** Star: Coby Fleener

With Dwayne Allen doubtful with a hip injury, the stage is set for Coby Fleener to have a breakout game. Fleener didn’t play the Dolphins game yesterday due to injury. Dwayne Allen on the other hand did and had 6 receptions for 75 yards. If you play in a PPR (Points Per Reception) league, that is tight end pay-dirt.  I think Coby Fleener has the potential of a breakout game and is worth a start in two tight end leagues, as a flex if injuries brought you down, or as a straight up #1 tight end option if say you have Rob Gronkowski on the bench and are working a revolving door of tight ends.

**** Star: T.Y Hilton

Last year he had 6 receptions for 102 yard and a receptions. Very good stats and even better in PPR leagues. Hilton had a quiet game last week against the Raiders but looks to breakout against the reeling Dolphins secondary. With Reggie Wayne possibly being covered by Brent Grimes, Hilton may get more looks both in the short and long passing game.

***** Star: Andrew Luck

How can you not go with Andrew Luck who torched the Dolphins secondary last year for 433 yards and set the rookie passing yards in a game record? Although he probably won’t duplicate the same success, look for him to accumulate yards and have several touchdowns to go with it. With a better receiving core and better offensive line, he should be able to light up the field and get you 20+ points. Let’s not forget his ability to get yards rushing as he rushed for over 30 yards last week and had a touchdown to go with it. He’s not so much the dual threat someone like a Colin Kaepernick or a Russell Wilson might be but more of the Aaron Rodgers to where he runs when he needs to but runs very well.

Silver Star: Miami Dolphins WR Brian Hartline

Brian Hartline had himself a game last time he faced the Colts. He had 8 receptions for 107 yards which in a PPR league is very good for a flex option. Last week against Cleveland he had 9 receptions for 114 yards and a TD catch. He is clearly the favorite receiver for Ryan Tannehill and has developed quite the rapport with him in his young season. He is worth a start in leagues that do PPR and offer multiple flex options.

Hopefully I helped your fantasy team prosper in it’s Week 2 match-up. Although it is still early in the season, it is crucial to notch up wins just to get yourself a playoff seed wrapped early so you can have less stress in the weeks leading into the playoffs. If you’re 0-1, there’s no need to panic and trade Chris Johnson for Jackie Battle, just relax and stick to your guns and hope somebody makes a dumb drop based on a knee-jerk reaction.

Go Colts!
