What Would Starting the Season 2-0 Mean for the Indianapolis Colts?

The Indianapolis Colts are currently undefeated in the 2013 NFL season, but that fact can change on any given Sunday.

The Colts began their 2013 regular season with a 21-17 home win against the Oakland Raiders, but the victory was far from pretty or dominant. Indianapolis teased with the possibility of beginning the season with a home loss, but instead, pulled out their first opening-week win since 2009.

This Sunday, the Colts will have a chance to pad their winning statistics, by hosting the Miami Dolphins, who also pulled off an uneven 23-10 win over the Cleveland Browns. The Colts defeated the Dolphins at Lucas Oil Stadium last season, but both of these young teams hope to gell a bit more together, since the last time they met.

The first two weeks of the season are near polar opposites for these teams, and starting the season 2-0 could be huge for either franchise. The Colts start off with two winnable home games, against two very defeatable teams. The Dolphins had to hit the road for their first two games, but could raise some interest, if they are undefeated after their Midwestern road trips.

Both of these teams will be looking to get a leg up early, in an AFC that seems to be a bit more top-heavy this season. These two former division rivals have the chance to keep pace or take the lead against their current division rivals. The Colts have the chance to improve on a week one win that wasn’t too impressive, and to begin the season with a bang. The Dolphins have the chance to surprise many by starting the season undefeated, with only six more road games to go.
