The Colts announced that both Coby Fleener and Dwayne Allen will play in their Week 1 match-up with the Oakland Raiders. Both of these second-year tight ends are expected to have big roles in this years offense.

Fleener had a rough season with drops and inconsistency, but is still a very explosive tight end who can makes plays down the field. He does need to work on his hands and focus, but once he improves that aspect of his game, he’ll be just fine. He’s expected to be the second tight end behind Allen to begin the season, but there’s no doubt that he has great upside and will see about the same amount of snaps.

Dwayne Allen is the guy that the Colts are most excited about this season. At 6’3″, 255 pounds, Allen is a huge target for up and coming superstar quarterback Andrew Luck. His looks are going to come across the middle and at a shorter range than Fleener. That being said, he is coming off a pesky foot injury. While that is not expected to slow him down, it could be something to keep an eye on.
