The preseason will come to a close on Thursday night for the Colts as they get set to take on the Cincinnati Bengals. As they get ready for the finale of exhibition season, head coach Chuck Pagano announced that a few players will not be playing come Thursday night.

Tight ends Coby Fleener and Dwayne Allen–both of whom have battled various injuries this preseason–will be out for the matchup against the Bengals. In addition to the Colts’ star tight ends, guard Mike McGlynn will also be out.

Rookie guard Hugh Thornton is expected to start for the Colts at guard in McGlynn’s place.

All three players are expected to be ready for the team’s week one matchup against the Oakland Raiders.

Coach Pagano indicated that he will not discuss with Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis which players they will each be keeping out of the game prior to kickoff, but he did note that Andrew Luck will play sparingly, if at all.

“If he gets a series, that’d be great.  If he gets nothing, that’d be great,” Pagano said.
