Injury Updates for the Indianapolis Colts
So far during this NFL preseason, the Indianapolis Colts have ended up on the lucky side of injury issues. In fact, the Colts are lucky enough to be getting some players back, while being cautious with a few others, who may still be dinged up. Anything can happen at any time in the NFL, but the Colts are currently getting healthier.
The Colts played their third game of the preseason without both of their starting tight ends. Dwayne Allen (foot) and Coby Fleener (concussion issues/knee) were both held out Saturday’s win against the Cleveland Browns, but both look like the could be ready for the opening game against the Oakland Raiders.
The Colts lost starting left tackle Anthony Castanzo early in Saturday’s game with a sprained knee. Castanzo did not return to the game, and is considered day-to-day. There seems to be no serious damage to the knee, but Castanzo has been ruled out of the final preseason game, this Thursday.
Wide receiver Nathan Palmer went down late in the Cleveland game, with a sprained MCL. Palmer will be out for a month or more. The injury is disappointing for Palmer, who was in the process of trying to fight for a roster spot, among many young receivers on this team.
The Colts were missing 14 players for their game against the Browns, but seem to be steadily getting healthier.
