The Indianapolis Colts took a day off from their NFL training camp, following a blowout 44-20 loss against the Buffalo Bills, in their preseason opening game on Sunday.
Monday proved to be a day of rest for the Colts, who will return to practice for the rest of the week, before traveling to play the New York Giants this weekend. The Colts, who are littered with little injuries, could use the extra rest. Indianapolis has nearly 20 players affected by injury, and the result was obvious against the Bills on Sunday.
The question is, does this team deserve the rest? After coming up short against a young Buffalo team on Sunday, the Colts may need all the practice and film study that they can get. It is still very early in this preseason, but it’s still not pretty when turnovers, penalties, and 107-yard kick returns are prevalent.
The Colts return to practice at Anderson University on Tuesday. There will be a team walk-though early, and open practice will begin at 3:20pm. The Colts will also practice on Wednesday and Thursday afternoon, and early Friday morning, before breaking camp. So far, over 34,000 fans have attended the 2013 training camp for the Indianapolis Colts.
