Andrew Luck Has His Best Day Yet of 2013 Training Camp for Indianapolis Colts

Andrew Luck has looked pretty solid during the first week of 2013 training camp for the Indianapolis Colts, but he finished the week with his best day of practice so far.

Luck wowed the crowd at Anderson University on Friday, by stepping his passing game up to another level. The second-year quarterback has looked cool under pressure in camp so far, directing his new offensive pieces, and being more vocal in the huddle. There was a point earlier in the week during practice, where Luck connected on nine passes in a row. As the Colts closed out their first week of training camp practice, Luck showed a whole new level of consistency.

Luck hit an amazing stride on Friday, connecting on 14 consecutive passes at one point, and finishing practice with four touchdowns. The morning practice on Friday was the first time that the Colts had a full early practice, rather than a walk-through. During the morning practice, Luck connected on 23-of-29 passes, seven of which went to Reggie Wayne. In total, Luck spread those 23 completions around to eight different receivers.

Luck may be a bit more familiar with the Colts’ new offensive scheme, since he had played under new coordinator Pep Hamilton at Stanford. Still, the fact that Luck can bring his teammates up to speed with him, shows a connection that goes far beyond simple scheme comprehension. Andrew Luck can run this offense, and all signs point to the fact that he will try to help his receivers run it, as well.
