Las Vegas has released their NFL regular season odds, and Vegas thinks the Indianapolis Colts are going to slip a bit in 2013.

In the 2012 season, the Indianapolis Colts improved nine games from their dreadful 2-14 campaign in 2011. Last season’s team, which was nearly totally reloaded from 2011, surprised the entire NFL. The Colts returned to the NFL Playoffs in 2012, and seem to already be an improved team in 2013.

It seems that the bookmakers in Las Vegas don’t quite agree that the Colts will improve this season. The line for how many games that Indianapolis will win in 2013 is 8.5, which means that the Colts will have to win nine games or more for a bet in their favor to pay off. Other teams with the same expected number of wins include the Dallas Cowboys, the Cincinnati Bengals, and the Chicago Bears. The World Champion Baltimore Ravens also have an expectancy of 8.5 wins. Currently, no team in the league is expected to win more than 11.5 games, and no team in the league is listed at lower than 5 wins.

Maybe Vegas knows something that Colts fans don’t. maybe Colts fans are looking at this upstart team through rose-colored glasses. Possibly, Las Vegas isn’t looking hard enough at the talent the Colts have, the talent they have brought in, and the fact that the Colts play in one of the worst divisions in football.
