On Tuesday, there were a few extra-special smiles at Indianapolis Colts practice.
Head coach Chuck Pagano and the Colts took some time away from 2013 training camp action, in order to host Riley Kids’ Day for several special young fans. Pagano arranged for the Riley Hospital for Children to bring ten young patients out to Colts practice, for a day at training camp that they will never forget.
The children and their families were invited out to Colts camp at the University of Anderson, as special guests of the Colts and their head coach. The children got a chance to visit Colts City, an interactive fan experience, held on campus. The special guests were then allowed to watch practice from near the sideline of the field, and also have a meet-and-greet with coach Pagano. The Riley Kids also got to meet and take photos with Colts players and cheerleaders.
Ever since Pagano fought through his battle against leukemia last year, he has made even more efforts to offer his assistance to charitable causes. The #CHUCKSTRONG campaign put together by the Colts franchise in 2012, also raised money and awareness for cancer victims.
Riley Hospital for Children has also partnered with Colts quarterback Andrew Luck, putting together their “Change the Play” program. The program promotes childhood activity, nutrition, and health. You can read more at http://iuhealth.org/riley
