Reggie Wayne Arrives to Training Camp in Style

The Colts veterans arrived to Anderson University for training camp yesterday, and, continuing what has become an annual tradition, Pro Bowl WR Reggie Wayne made a grand entrance. In previous years, Wayne had arrived to camp in a cement truck, a taxi cab, and with military members, but this year Wayne took things to a whole other level, one-upping himself in a way that he’s not even sure he can top in the years ahead.

Wayne touched down at camp in a Lifeline helicopter from Indiana University Health, and the Colts media captured it all on camera. Making the entrance even grander, Wayne exited the helicopter with a guest, 20-year-old Matt Sercer, who lost a foot in a farming accident last year. At one point Sercer was told he would never walk again, but out he strode with Wayne. It was a great scene that really set a positive tone for camp.

Wayne said his entrance was inspired by the Colts’ breakout season last year, in which the team, once projected to finish at the bottom of the league, went 11-5 and made the playoffs. This year, he believes that the “sky’s the limit.”

“I don’t know if you can outdo this one,” Wayne told reporters.

But knowing Wayne, he’ll probably think of something. He usually does.
