Indianapolis Colts’ Safety Antoine Bethea Assists the United Way

As part of a continuous effort to stay consistently charitable in and around their city, the Indianapolis Coltsare joining forces with the United Way, to help launch the “Read. Tutor. Mentor.” challenge.

On Thursday, June 6th, free safety Antoine Bethea with be appearing at the Monument Circle in downtown Indianapolis, to try and recruit 500 volunteers for this program. The “Read. Tutor. Mentor.” challenge, put together by the United Way of Central Indiana, is asking volunteers to take just one hour a week to help make an impact in the life of a child. The local initiative is part of a national movement by United Way Worldwide to help reduce the number of high school dropouts by half  in the next five years.

The Indianapolis version of the initiative kicks off at noon on Thursday, and Bethea will be making his appearence at 1pm, to assist in signing up volunteers. There are five additional Central Indiana event locations, which include the Boone County Courthouse at 11:30 a.m., Fishers YMCA at 11:30 a.m., Hancock County Courthouse at 10:30 a.m. and Morgan County Courthouse at 10:00 a.m.
