The march madness-style tournament to decide which NFL star will be on the cover of Madden NFL 25 will continue without Andrew Luck. The second-year quarterback was elimated from contention for the cover by another second-year quarterback. Russel Wilson, quarterback from the Seattle Seahawks advances to the elite eight in the cover tournament by defeating Luck. Wilson took 57% of the vote for his victory over Luck.

On his way through the tournament, Luck defeated Jake Locker from the Tennessee Titans in the first round. Luck then took a close win over Clay Matthews from the Green Bay Packers. Luck’s match-up with Wilson was expected to be close, but Wilson pulled out the win. Wilson’ win was no doubt helped by the surprise run that Seattle made through the NFC Playoffs. Luck and the Colts lost to the eventual-champion Baltimore Ravens in the wild card round, and were kind of put on the back burner afterwards.

Wilson now faces running back Arian Foster in the elite eight round. He may sail past Foster, and Luck may have done the same. The winner of that match will face very stiff competition in the final four of the Madden cover tourney, as they advance to play the winner of the match between Adrian Peterson and Robert Griffin III.
