Indianapolis Colts Are Not Trying to be April Fools

As April begins in the NFL, teams are starting to introduce new coaches to their teams, invite players in for voluntary workouts, and prepare for the draft. The face of the league will continue to change, as NFL Free agency dwindles down, and this month’s draft creeps closer.

March was a busy month for the Indianapolis Colts, and April will be no different. The Colts were very active in free agency, loading up mostly for position battles on the defensive side of the ball. The most well-known addition for Indianapolis in free agency was Pro Bowl safety LaRon Landry.  The Colts also brought in veteran quarterback Matt Hasselbeck as a back-up for Andrew Luck. Indianapolis was also forced to cut ties with several players, in order to make room for their new additions.

Indianapolis will have to do their best to keep rolling through the month of April. There are still spots on the roster that need attention, and it will be up to the staff whether they decide to fill those needs in the draft, or whether they continue to pursue players in free agency. There’s a chance that the Colts will still bring in interesting rookie prospects, as well as productive available veterans. One thing is for sure, the Indianapolis Colts are taking every move they make this month very seriously. There is a lot of work to be done in April, and this team has no interest in fooling around.
