Andrew Luck, starting quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts, had an amazing first season in the NFL. Luck may not have won the Rookie of the Year award, but he broke several rookie records. Luck may have not won his first postseason game as a pro, but he did lead a 2-14 team to the NFL Playoffs, taking part in one of the biggest single-season turnarounds in league history. The future seems to be very bright for Andrew Luck and the Colts, and as we near the one-year anniversary of Indianapolis taking Luck with the first overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the accolades are still coming in for this young signal-caller.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Madden NFL video game. For nearly a decade now, “Madden” has literally been the only game in town, and is the only video game franchise that is allowed to use NFL players and logos. The release of this game has literally become a national holiday, and for the player named to grace the cover, the honor has been considered as both a blessing and a curse.
This year, EA Sports has put together a March Madness-type bracket to see who will be the player on the cover for the coveted 25th anniversary of the classic game franchise. One of the players in consideration is Andrew Luck, who has already reached the second round of the online tournament. In the first round of voting, Luck bested Tennessee Titans’ quarterback Jake Locker, with 89% of the nearly 650,000 votes.
In round two, Luck is matched up against Clay Matthews, Pro Bowl defensive player from the Green Bay Packers. The Madden brackets consist of both current and former players, and if Luck can overcome Matthews and the Packer Nation, he will be facing either Russell Wilson or Von Miller.
