The Indianapolis Colts continue to swim in the NFL free agency pool. On Wednesday night, the Colts made another stride, by signing Pro Bowl safety Laron Landry.
Landry is the sixth, and biggest, of the free agents signed by the Colts so far. Indianapolis has been making moves at a hectic pace, ever since free agency opened, which was less than 48 hours ago. Aside from bringing in the six new players, the Colts also re-signed cornerback Darius Butler to a new two-year contract. Indianapolis has not been making big and flashy moves, but they have been moving constantly.
LaRon Landry will come in, and will immediately be expected to take the field as a starter. The addition of the sixth-year veteran is a sure sign that they Colts are trying to build up their defense, after going heavy on offense last season. Landry has 534 career tackles, including a career-high 133 tackles last season. Landry also has 10 forced fumbles, and five fumble recoveries, in his career. During his Pro Bowl season last year, the safety had four forced fumbles, and a personal best two interceptions.
