Andrew Luck Continues to Break Rookie Records

The Indianapolis Colts, with a shocking record of 10-5 after sixteen weeks of the regular season, are back in the AFC Playoffs. Much of their surprising success (and much of their burdens) have been rested on the shoulders of their record-breaking rookie quarterback. Not only has Andrew Luck admirably filled the shoes of a man who is possibly the best quarterback in NFL history, he has taken his team towards the best single-season turnaround ever.

The Colts are now only the seventh team ever to make the playoffs after having the first overall pick in the NFL Draft. Luck has also led this team in seven fourth quarter comeback wins, and has thrown for six 300-yard games, both of which are records. Luck’s 433-yard passing day against the Miami Dolphins in a week 9 win was a new rookie record as well.

To top it all off, Andrew Luck has thrown for more total yards already this season than any rookie quarterback in NFL history. Luck’s 4,183 passing yards are the most ever, breaking a record set by Cam Newton last season, which was set previously by Peyton Manning in 1998. The future looks bright for this young phenom, but right now, his rookie season is one for the record books.
