Five Questions About the Indianapolis Colts vs Detroit Lions, Part Two

facebooktwitterreddit

Before the week 13 match-up between the Indianapolis Colts and the Detroit Lions, I got in contact with Zac Snyder from www.sidelionreport.com, to see what his think about Sunday’s game between these two young teams.

Naptown’s Finest– Where do you place Matt Stafford and Calvin Johnson among the top quarterback-to-wide receiver combos in the NFL?

Side Lion Report – Calvin Johnson is on another planet compared to the other wide receivers in the league and while Matthew Stafford needs to show more consistency before he can be mentioned among the list of elites, he’s on the doorstep. For that reason you have to call Stafford to Johnson the best combo in the league. Look at the numbers the two have put up over the last two seasons and it is hard to argue otherwise. Calvin has a shot to break Jerry Rice’s single-season record for receiving yards and poised to become the first receiver to average 100-yards per game in back to back seasons since Lance Alworth did it from 1964-1966.

NF – What is your bold stat line for Megatron against the Colts?

SLR – Calvin Johnson is on a three-game touchdown streak and I expect that to continue. The chase of Jerry Rice’s single-season receiving record is starting to get more attention and with the Lions having virtually no shot at the playoffs, I expect Matthew Stafford to send a few more passes than usually to his already favorite receiver. I’m looking for 8 catches, 140 yards and a touchdown.

I’d like to thank Zac Snyder for his time and input. You can read more from Zac at Side Lion Report.com. You can also read the first part of our Colts and Lions discussion here – “Discussing the Indianapolis Colts vs Detroit Lions, Part One”.
