Indianapolis Colts Help Needy Families for Thanksgiving

The Thanksgiving holiday is just as much about being thankful for our blessings, as it is about giving blessings to others in need. On Tuesday, eight Indianapolis Colts players and four cheerleaders joined in with more than 100 volunteers at Lucas Oil Stadium, to serve up 2,000 Thanksgiving food packages. The local residents of Indianapolis who received the holiday benefits were specially nominated by local community centers, churches and schools.

The “Horseshoe Helpings” campaign helped to put together the Thanksgiving packages, which included a turkey, a pumpkin pie, a bag of potatoes, corn, green beans, stuffing, cranberry sauce and gravy. The efforts put forth by these, and all of the local holiday volunteers, shows how much this city cares for (and takes care of) their community. In this season of giving thanks, it is good to see (and to appreciate) those who give their time to help
