The Indianapolis Colts, the Indiana Pacers, and the Indiana Fever have all teamed up to offer support for the victims of an explosion that occurred on the city’s south side late Saturday night. The teams announced that they have offered to donate $20,000 to the American Red Cross to help relief for this tragedy, that has left dozens of families homeless, and took the lives of two people. In the days following the explosion, the community has bonded together to help these displaced families try to rebuild their lives, even if they can’t properly explain how or why this senseless act occurred.
Aside from the financial donation, some of the Indianapolis Colts players showed up to the blast site after football practice on Monday, to assist in the clean-up efforts. These players didn’t show up with media or any other kind of fanfare, they came out to help in any way that they could. This is just another indication of a city that will come together to help each other, when people in their community are in need.
