As they prepare for a week nine home game against the Miami Dolphins, the Indianapolis Colts have made some roster moves. Perhaps some of the cuts are being used to make room for the replacement of certain starters, such as cornerback Vontae Davis, who was injured last Sunday. Davis’ status is still uncertain for the Dolphins game.
This week, the Colts have waived veteran running back, Mewelde Moore. Moore, a nine year veteran, has by far more experience than any other running back on the Colts roster. Still, Moore had shown very little promise or progression since being brought to the Colts in the off-season. Moore had only nine carries on the year, racking up a mere fourteen rushing yards. Moore also had four receptions for 36 yards and one touchdown.
The Colts also promoted cornerback Marshay Green and fullback Robert Hughes from the practice squad, as well as signing cornerback Teddy Williams to the practice squad. Nose tackle Antonio Dixson has also been waived.
