Week Seven Roster Moves for the Indianapolis Colts

As injuries mount up and continue to hold on, the Indianapolis Colts had to make some additions, and cut loose some ties. This week’s roster moves seem to indicate that some of the injured players may be farther away from seeing the playing field then most had hoped.

The cuts made by the Colts this week were not major. Three players, who saw little or no playing time in the regular season, were let go, to make space for players who may be needed due to injuries at other positions. Indianapolis has released tight end Dominique Jones from the practice squad, and have waived linebacker Jerry Brown and quarterback Chandler Harnish.

The Colts have brought in tight end Weslye Saunders and defensive end De-Lawrence Guy, and both players may find themselves on the field soon. Saunders, who played in 16 games for the Pittsburgh Steelers last season, is a physically imposing 6ft 5in target. Guy, who was picked up from the Green Bay Packers practice squad, was drafted in 2011, but spent all of last season on injured reserve.

With substantial injuries to various starters, the Colts can use all the help they can get. If some of the starting players don’t get back healthy, Indianapolis may need that help sooner, rather than later.
