Covering Wednesday Practice for Indianapolis Colts

On Wednesday, the Indianapolis Colts returned to practice, to begin preparations for their first divisional game of the season at Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Colts were happy to see certain players back on the practice field, but also missed others who were unable to play.

Wide receiver Austin Collie and offensive lineman Winston Justice returned to practice Wednesday, after both players were held out of last Sunday’s game with concussion concerns. Collie has been in and out of practice since suffering a concussion in the second game of the preseason, but has yet to see the field in a regular season game this year.

Defensive end/linebacker Dwight Freeney and starting center Samson Satele were absent from the field Wednesday. Freeney went down early in game one, and Satele suffered a leg injury late in the first half of game two. Both players are listed as day-to-day, but the Colts are practicing as though they may not be available for game three on Sunday. Three separate players took the field in game two in Freeney’s absence, totaling only four tackles between them. Guard Mike McGlynn has been moved over, and was practicing under center with the first-team offense.
