Indianapolis Colts Continue Training Camp
The Indianapolis Colts continue to prepare for their first preason game of the year by entering their second week of training camp under first year head coach Chuck pagano. On Sunday, August 12th, this reloaded Colts roster will take their home field for the first time at Lucas Oil Stadium against the St. Louis Rams.
The summer heat still beamed down as the Colts took the field for their tenth practice of the 2012 training camp. Both the offense and defense have shown bright spots on a daily basis during camp. Defensive end Cory Redding, another new face on the defensive side of the ball for the Colts, made Monday’s highlight reel by returning a fumble the opposite way for a touchdown. Rookie quarterback Andrew Luck continues to show early promise in camp. Luck completed two deep passes on Monday for touchdowns, one to verteran wide out Reggie Wayne, and one to rookie receiver LaVon Brazil.
Offensive coordinator Bruce Arains was asked about how much playing time Luck might see against St. Louis on Sunday. “We want to see how long we want to play that first line and the entire group, so we haven’t really sat down and talked about it yet. We’d like to get in 20 plays, maybe 25.”
The Colts will take their first break from the summer sun of training camp so far, by holding a night practice on Tuesday.
