Indianapolis Colts Training Camp Day Two
Rookie quarterback Andrew Luck completed 27-32 passes during his first training camp practice on Sunday. The glowing remarks for the number one overall pick in last April’s draft have came rolling in from all sides early and often. On Monday, Luck continued to look impressive, connecting to ten different receivers in practice.
“He’s mature beyond his years,” head coach Chuck Pagano said about Luck at Colts practice on Monday. “He’s got great presence and command of the huddle. He’s in the respect in a short amount of time from his team mates.”
With less than two weeks until Luck will debut in his first NFL preseason game, hearing such praise this early is a good sign for a team that has been filled with young talent and veteran free agents. Considering that there are teams thoughout the NFL whose feedback from early practices are marred by inconsitancy, holdouts, and possible suspended players, a good and positive prace seems to help ease alot of tension built up over this franchise from the events of the past year.
The Colts return the field on Tuesday, and will be practicing in pads for the first time.
