Colts Lose to Falcons at Home

Break out the champagne, folks!    The Indianapolis Colts are alone in “first” place and appear to be ready to make good on a wire-t0-wire run to land the first pick in the 2012 NFL draft.   Not only did the Colts drop their home game today against the Atlanta Falcons, 31-7, but the Miami Dolphins got off the snide in a big way by defeating the Chiefs in Kansas City, 31-3.

In their game against the Falcons, the Colts were pretty much non-existent across the board, holding onto the ball for just 22 minutes to the Falcons’ 38.  Curtis Painter threw for just 98 yards and was relieved by Dan Orlovsky, Indy lost the running battle (163 yards to 83), and Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan delivered 275 yards through the air.

The lone bright spot for the Colts’ was Jerraud Powers’ 6-yard TD run off of an interception.  Indy didn’t even get a field goal attempt on the day, and they really appear to have completely given up on the season.

Lord help our Colts!   Failing that, or a Manning Miracle,  Luck be with our  Colts!!!
