Indianapolis Colts Stay ‘Perfect’, Lose 27-10 to Tennessee Titans

On a beautiful fall day in Tennessee, the Indianapolis Colts managed to stay the course of their star-crossed season, losing to the Titans, 27-10.  Coming into the game, the Colts had won five straight match-ups with Tennessee, but were never even close this time around.  Down 20-0 at halftime, Indy pulled to 20-10 on a long drive early in the fourth quarter, but that was all she wrote in terms of Horseshoe scoring.

Indianapolis continues to find innovative ways to lose games.   The big problem for this squad this season has been getting manhandled at the line of scrimmage and losing the time of possession battle, badly.  This time around, the Colts outgained the Titans on the ground (158 yards to 96) and through the air (241-215), but they got killed by penalties, turnovers, and poor special teams plays.    In particular, the Titans converted two Curtis Painter interceptions into 14 points and blocked a punt in the end zone for another seven.

It’s really tough to win when you spot the opposition 21 points.
