Colts Notes for August 31

Not much happened in Colts news yesterday, as the team traveled to Cincinnati for its final pre-season game today.   Here are a few `Shoe notes to digest with all of that saliva you’re producing as you ponder the Bengals-Colts match-ups.

  • Arian Foster gave the Colts staff something to play with over the next week-and-a-half.
  • Former Colts cornerback Kelvin Hayden signed with the Atlanta Falcons.   So much for bringing him back on the cheap!
  • Fans and media continued to speculate about who will and who won’t make the 53-man roster that’s due on Saturday.  Anthony Gonzalez seems to be the most popular fodder here, but Donald Brown, Jerry Hughes, Dan Orlovsky (ha!) and any number of linemen garnered their fair share of attention, too.
  • If you’re looking for a good position battle to watch tonight, particularly if you’re from the Indy area, keep an eye on Chad Spann and Darren Evans.    These local products may be battling for the last RB spot, and I give Evans an edge right now.     I hope they get some final shots to impress, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see both of them either on the roster or on the practice squad.
