Tuesday was a rare full-fledged training day, with both morning and night practices. The 7:30 pm session was the last sundown session scheduled, and the Colts have only two practices left until camp breaks on Thursday morning. Here are some notes on yesterday’s action:
- Punter Pat McAfee continued to drill long field goals in the morning. Could he eventually draw double (or triple) duty when AV retires?
- The Colts extended their agreement to camp at Anderson through 2016. Very good news for the city and Anderson University, which will continue to upgrade its facilities during the next five years.
- After Saturday’s game unofficial depth chart has Anthony Castonzo starting at LT. A new era in Colts football may have begun.
- Also moving to the top of the charts is Joe Reitz at LG.
- Blair White, Jamey Richard and Jamie Thomas all missed morning practice.
- DT DeMario Pressley was waived, according to RotoWorld.com. Pressley was claimed off waivers from the Houston Texans in February and spent much of camp on the sidelines.
- Manning did some jogging and stretching during the morning workout.
- Players were padded last night, last time for this camp.
- The second-team offensive line right now: Toudouze, McClendon, Pollak, DeVan, Ijalana.
- Second-team o-line got a lot of work against first-team d-line. Good news/bad news is that the o-line did pretty well overall.
- McAfee tried a 75-yard field goal during the scrimmage and didn’t even get the ball to the the goal line. His stunt kicking could end up in injury.
