Kelvin Hayden Likely to Stay with Colts
By Editorial Staff
JMV of local sports talk fame on 1070 the Fan apparently related to BigBlueShoe last night that Kelvin Hayden will not be cut by the Colts, despite lots of chatter to that effect since Monday. Hayden is set to make about $9 million this year, so cutting ties would give the Colts room to pursue other free agents, either their own or someone on the open market. That salary is about twice what Tennessee’s Cortland Finnegan will make, and Hayden hasn’t played a full year season since 2007. Seems like a lot to pay for a declining corner, so we’ll see if there is more to this story. As always, stay tuned!
