Pro Football Weekly is reporting that NFL players didn’t vote on the proposed new labor agreement, after all. It seems there was a delay in getting the proposal to the players, and DeMaurice Smith emphatically told participants in a conference call that there is “no deal” in place as of now. The players are going to spend some time making sure that what the owners voted on is actually what the two sides agreed to in earlier meetings. There seem to be some rumblings that the owners are trying to slide some changes under the door. It could be all smoke and no fire, or it could get uglier than it’s been to this point. Hopefully, though, we’ll have good news to celebrate by the weekend, and Colts fans can get back to planning season-long routes to the Super Bowl.
