10 Things I’m looking Forward To: Colts Edition

Honestly, not a whole lot going on in Naptown right now.  We don’t have a quarterback controversy, a standout wide receiver who wants to be traded or a cornerback demanding more money.  Not much going on at all.  This time of year is hard for me, because although I am looking forward to football, I also really, really love baseball.  The sun is shining, it’s hot outside and that means baseball is in full swing.

None the less, I’m stoked about the return of football.  With training camp only a little more than a month away, I’m starting to get geeked up.  When I see a picture of Peyton Manning or Reggie Wayne, I start to feel giddy like a little school girl.  Yeah, I start to feel a little funny, kind of like when you climb the rope in gym class.

So … with all that said, here it is: 10 Things I’m looking Forward to with the 2009 Colts

1.  Kelvin Hayden and Marlin Jackson being healthy

2.  Seeing Jacob Tamme in action

3.  Watching Joseph Addai and Donald Brown become a badass tandem at RB

4. Austin Collie lining up in the slot on third down – just like Brandon Stokley did

5.  Watching Dwight Freeney make quarterbacks question their career

6.  Bob Sanders knocking the soul of a Texans running back into another dimension of space, creating a time warp and spiral of events the world has never known

7.  Watching defensive tackles that don’t suck

8.  Seeing teams crap themselves knowing they just can’t stop Dallas Clark

9.  Peyton pump faking right then hitting Wayne deep left for a touchdown

10.  Roy Hall getting a chance to prove himself at WR

Really, these are just a few of the many things I’m pumped about for the 2009 Colts.  We’ve got some awesome rookies, a healthy defensive backfield and a healthy offensive line.  Things are looking good.  There is no reason to think the 2009 Indianapolis Colts will not be better than last year’s version.  Peyton’s health alone is almost reason enough to argue that.  Of course, more on that and many more topics soon to come.

GO COLTS !!!
