Around the interwebs this week, I’ve heard some questions being brought up about the Colts. Will Jamie Silva be called up from the practice squad to replace Bob Sanders and maybe Matt Giordano? Will Keyunta Dawson play? Are Dallas Clark and Jeff Saturday healthy? The Indy Star has the answers to those questions.
Question 1: Silva coming up? Answer-Maybe. Dungy said that there is a possibility that the Colts will get another safety, but that would mean someone would have to be cut. With all of the injuries, we don’t have space to cut anyone.
Question 2: Is Dawson healthy? Answer-Barring any setbacks, yes. Dawson has missed practice this week with an ankle injury, but he said that he expects to play. This means that Raheem Brock can continue to start at defensive end, giving us more defensive end depth. It also means that Curtis Johnson and/or Marcus Howard will be inactive.
Question 3: Will Clark and Saturday play? Answer-100% yes. There is no way they miss this game. Saturday’s injury recovered unbelievably fast, and Clark’s injury must not have been that serious. Now, Jamey Richard will hopefully move to right guard and Dan Federkeil will move to left tackle. Please no more Charlie Johnson at left tackle. He should have been cut this offseson. I said they should. I was told that I was being too hard on him and that he might be a better guard. Maybe I should be a consultant to Polian…
With these injuries cleared up, we have Jacob Tamme, Roy Hall, Bob Sanders, Tony Ugoh, and Mike Pollak out for sure, and Matt Giordano and Daniel Muir are both gametime decisions. If the worst possible outcome happens, we will have one inactive spot left, which would probably be used by Curtis Johnson. If not, expect Curtis Johnson, Marcus Howard, and Dante Hughes to be inactive.
