It’s Been A Busy Day: Colts Sign RB Justin Forsett

The Colts, who normally have few newsworthy events, have had a very busy day.  The Colts do have a new player, but he is not a defensive tackle to replace Big Ed Johnson.  We signed running back Justin Forsett?

Yes, we have another running back, but you will see him more on special teams than offense.  According to Danny O’Neil’s blog for The Seattle Times, Justin Forsett was one of the Seahawks most productive players during preseason.  After what I saw this preseason and in the first game of the year, we need someone who has looked GOOD this calendar year.  Forsett was used as a returner in Seattle, so expect him to replace Dominic Rhodes so Dom can focus on running.  Forsett is a rookie out of Cal who had 1,546 yards last year.  He saved his best performance for the biggest game, rushing for 164 yards against Southern Cal.

With this signing, I’m saying “See Ya!” to Courtney Roby.  He muffed one kick and fumbled another.  The Colts can’t risk turnovers against teams like Jacksonville and Minnesota.
