Today is the first practice of the 2008 training camp. Even though the first practice just ended, there’s been a lot of news.
~Clint Session has been practicing with the first team at strongside linebacker. Of course, it would be surprising for a rookie (Wheeler) to be starting there anyways.
~Peyton Manning did not report. He has been ordered by his doctors to stay home so his knee doesn’t get re-infected.
~The Hefty Lefty and Gray have already had their first camp casualities. Longtime practice squad QB Josh Betts and rookie Adam Tafralis both got cut. That means there are only 3 QBs left, the number prior to the signings.
~Rudy Burgess, a return specialist/wide receiver, was also cut. Surprising since we made a big effort to keep him from signing with the Jags, even giving him a large signing bonus.
~Reports are that Marvin has looked fine, and Roy Hall has been a standout once again.
