Week 11 Rankings

The big question has finally been asked: Is Indy still worthy of being No. 2 in the NFL? They’ve lost two in a row, while the Pats are 9-0 and the ‘Boys and the Pack are both 8-1. I know, I know…The Colts are a mere shadow of their former selves, down to pulling from the practice squad and picking up players that other teams have cut. How could I possibly think less of them? Well, I don’t think any less of them, like all of Coltsdom, but reality is reality: The Indianapolis Colts are hurting…badly.
But, at least the Colts get the benefit of the doubt:
“When healthy, the Colts might be the best team in the league, and the fact they they played two quality teams to such close outcomes, while so short-handed, is admirable,” said [ESPN] senior writer Len Pasquarelli.
Do they deserve to be 2nd in the league, though? Len, please…
“But the Power Rankings are a weekly read, in flux based on how the team is performing at that particular time. And the Colts are hurting right now while Dallas is surging.”
That’s why ESPN’s ranking the Colts between Dallas and Green Bay…at No. 3.

2. Dallas Cowboys (8-1)
3. Indianapolis Colts (7-2)
4. Green Bay Packers (8-1)
5. Pittsburgh Steelers (7-2)
6. Jacksonville Jaguars (6-3)
7. New York Giants (6-3)
8. Tennessee Titans (6-3)
9. San Diego Chargers (6-3)
10. Detroit Lions (6-3)
This is what they had to say about the Colts though, why they were dropped a spot in the ranking:
“Is the two-game losing streak really a sign of weakness? In a word … no. The Colts came closer than anybody else has against the Pats, and they made a remarkable rally from 23 points down in San Diego. They just need to get healthy. ”
And, that, my friends, is how the Colts – when they finally get healthy around the postseason – will win another Super Bowl in ’08!
And it’s kind of funny how there are three – THREE! – AFC South Division teams in the Top 10.
