Our Colts went through some drastic changes after winning the Super Bowl and we should review these changes in order to put them behind us as we enter the 2007 season. Here’s the review:
Losses:
T Tarik Glenn…………..Retired.
LB Cato June………………TB Bucs.
S Mike Doss……………..Minnesota Vikes.
CB Jason David…………..NO Saints.
CB Nick Harper………….Tennessee Titans.
RB Dominic Rhodes……Oakland Raidahs.
WR Brandon Stokley…..Denver Broncos.
T Corey Simon…………Tennessee Titans.
T Montae Reagor…….Philadelphia Iggles.
T Booger McFarland…Injury.
DC Leslie Frazier…………Minnesota Vikes…replaces Mike Tomlin as Def. Coordinator.
These fellas combined for 84 starts last season alone. Quite a chunk of talent missing this year – Super Bowl talent – but let’s see the additions to the squad:
Additions:
WR Anthony Gonzalez…#1 Draft Pick, Ohio State.
LT Tony Ugoh………….#2 Draft Pick, Arkansas.
CB Daymien Hughes…..#3 Draft Pick, UCal.
DT Quinn Pitcock………..#4 Draft Pick, Ohio State.
WR Roy Hall…………………#5 Draft Pick, Ohio State.
RT Ed Johnson…………..Undrafted Rookie, Penn State.
FB Luke Lawton…………..Free Agent, NY Jets.
RB Kenton Keith…………..CFL, Saskatchewan.
You notice 6 of these 8 additions come out of the 2007 Draft, so can Polian and Dungy do it again? Most of the moves happened on defense with some of our favorites left riding that Super Bowl Champion status. You can’t blame them, but it’s time to think forward now. Are the newbies enough to get the Colts back to the Big Show?
I’ll link this page again so you don’t have to sifting through past postings (though it’d only do you some good)…Here’s the Colts ’07 Depth Chart.
