Blowing the Whistle

The NFL is looking to create a “whistle blower” system so players can anonymously report incidents in which trainers and coaches are pressuring injured players to get back on the field sooner then their injuries allow them to.

This is the main topic of conversation for a concussion conference of NFL trainers in Rosemont, Illinois. This summit will take place today.

According to ESPN, several players lack the confidence in the confidentiality the NFL would have for their reports.

If players don’t have the respect for the NFL brass to feel safe enough to report such incidents, then it seems to me that they need to stop talking about building another beaurocratic arm and start fixing the disconnection between the players and their bosses.
