Colts Injury Report: Patrick Robinson Listed as ‘Doubtful’; Kendall Langford Still ‘Out’
The Indianapolis Colts announced their Friday injury report, and while the offense looks fully healthy for once, there are still some notable defensive players listed on the injury report.
Starting cornerback Patrick Robinson (groin) is officially ‘doubtful’, having not practiced all week. In his projected absence, look for emerging cornerback Rashaan Melvin to start on the other side of Vontae Davis with Darius Butler covering the slot in nickel packages.
The Colts secondary did get some good news this week; however, as starting safety Mike Adams (groin) has been a full participant in practice for consecutive days. Adams was injured against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 8 and missed the team’s following game against the Green Bay Packers.
The veteran safety figures to assume a lot of action from the get-go, especially with the defense deploying fellow safety Clayton Geathers as a hybrid linebacker more-and-more in recent weeks and rookie safety T.J. Green still coming along.
Meanwhile, starting defensive lineman Kendall Langford (knee) has yet to practice this week, even though head coach Chuck Pagano was “hopeful” about a potential return on Monday. The veteran defensive end has been declared “out” and is at least another week from returning.
Certainly not helping matters is that fellow veteran defensive lineman Art Jones (illness) is officially listed as ‘questionable’, having not practiced all week.
One positive bit of news concerning the defensive line is that 2nd-year defensive lineman Henry Anderson (knee) was a full participant in practice all week and should return to the starting lineup.
The Colts could sorely use his run-stopping ability facing a red-hot Titans offense that features workhorse DeMarco Murray and leads the league in rushing with 1,452 total rushing yards.
Otherwise, the offensive line is finely healthy as all of Denzelle Good (illness), Jack Mewhort (tricep), and even Joe Reitz (concussion) have been full participants in practice for consecutive days, which boosts the Colts chances of keeping starting quarterback Andrew Luck healthy and upright against a Tennessee Titans pass rush that is 5th in the NFL with 28 total sacks.
