Jack Mewhort Among Colts Back at Practice Monday
The Indianapolis Colts had some encouraging news during Monday’s practice, as starting offensive guard Jack Mewhort was able to practice among other returning teammates.
The 3rd-year offensive lineman hasn’t appeared in a game since Week 6, having been battling a tricep injury during recent weeks. However, it appears that Mewhort may actually have a strong chance of starting this weekend against the Tennessee Titans:
Obviously, it would be a tremendous boost to the Colts offensive line, as Mewhort is arguably their best all-around offensive lineman these days–if healthy. It comes at a tremendous time too, as the Titans defense is 4th in the NFL for most sacks with 28 total sacks on the season in what should be a pivotal AFC South game.
It’s also worth noting that starting safety Mike Adams (groin), defensive end Henry Anderson (knee), and swing-tackle Joe Reitz (concussion: non-contact) were also able to practice on Monday–meaning that the Colts appear to be getting considerably healthier coming off their bye week.
The only other prominent injured player apparently unaccounted for is veteran defensive lineman Kendall Langford (knee), who may still be another few weeks away from returning in his recovery.
