The Indianapolis Colts announced on Tuesday that the team has waived inside linebacker Anthony Sarao and cornerback Darius White, while also placing safety Dezmen Southward on season-ending injured reserve in a corresponding move.

To fill the additional roster spot, the team re-signed safety Alden Darby, who was released on Sunday–to put them at the league mandated 75-player roster limit.

Sarao was signed as an undrafted rookie free agent following the draft, but was released shortly after the team’s rookie mini-camp before being re-signed two weeks ago.

He finished his USC Trojans career with 217 tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss, 7.0 sacks, 1 forced fumble, 5 passes defensed and 2 interceptions (1 returned for a touchdown) in 54 games (34 starts).

Like Sarao, White was originally signed as an undrafted rookie free agent after the draft’s conclusion. The 6’0″, 180 pound, former Cal cornerback finished with 6 tackles and a pass defensed in 3 preseason games with the team.

Originally a 3rd round pick of the Atlanta Falcons in the 2014 NFL Draft, Southward was signed to the Colts practice squad in November of this past season, where he remained for its entirety. While it’s unclear what his injury is, he finished the preseason with 9 tackles and a pass defensed in 3 preseason games.

To replace Southward at safety, the Colts re-signed Darby as mentioned, who was initially signed a week ago before his release Sunday. The 5’10”, 192 pound safety has had 1 tackle in 2 preseason games with the team.
