The Indianapolis Colts announced on Friday that the team signed tight end Nick Truesdell and waived tight end Mike Miller from the non-football injury in a corresponding move.

Originally signed by the Indoor Football League’s Colorado Ice as an undrafted free agent in 2014, the 6’5″, 245 pound tight end most recently played for the Portland Steel of the Arena Football League, recording 15 receptions for 200 receiving yards and 8 touchdown receptions.

He’s also played for the Arena Football League’s Spokane Shock a season ago, catching 80 receptions for 977 receiving yards and a whopping 23 touchdown receptions.

Here are some highlights for your viewing pleasure:

It came a season after Truesdell caught 33 receptions for 355 receiving yards and 7 touchdown receptions for the Shock as a rookie in 2014.

Truesdell has also spent time with the Bemdiji Axemen previously, recording 28 receptions for 402 receiving yards and 9 touchdowns in 7 games.

The 26 year old tight end has also had tryout stints with the Green Bay Packers in 2014 for their rookie minicamp, as well as the Cincinnati Bengals and Tennessee Titans previously.

In a somewhat surprising move, the Colts waived Mike Miller, who played his collegiate football at Taylor University in local Upland, Indiana. The 6’6″, 255 pound tight end finished his Trojans career with 80 receptions for 959 receiving yards and 7 touchdowns.

The tight end had shown flashes of potential at the Colts OTA’s earlier this offseason with his size and length. However, the former Santa Monica College (CA) transfer apparently suffered a non-football related injury recently, and the Colts felt it was in their best interest to move on for depth reasons at the position.
