With Tyler Varga’s retirement, the Indianapolis Colts announced on Tuesday that the team has signed free agent running back Abou Toure for additional depth in a corresponding roster move.

It’s not Toure’s 1st tour with the Colts, as he signed with the team as an undrafted free agent rookie running back out of Tennessee-Martin and spent last offseason with Indianapolis before being eventually waived in late August.

After his release from the Colts, Toure spent time with both the Pittsburgh Steelers and Arizona Cardinals practice squads in 2015 respectively.

The 6’2″, 230 pound Toure is a big-bodied running back that ran for 1,138 rushing yards on 199 carries (5.7 ypg) and 8 touchdowns for the Skyhawks during his senior season in 2014, which was the school’s 3rd all-time largest single-season rushing yards total.

As mentioned, the 25 year old figures to add additional running back depth for training camp, but appears to be a longshot to ultimately make the final 53-man roster.
