Colts Inactives: At Steelers on Sunday Night Football

The Indianapolis Colts announced their inactive players for Sunday night’s matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers (8:30 PM EST):

ILB Jerrell Freeman (hamstring) and OG Hugh Thornton (elbow) are the newest additions to this week’s inactive list as far as starting players are concerned. In their absence, look for backups Nate Irving and Lance Louis to fill-in as their replacements at starting inside linebacker and offensive guard respectively.

It’s worth noting that another backup inside linebacker Josh McNary could seen an increased role in passing downs with Freeman out as well.

Obviously, backup quarterback Matt Hasselbeck will once again be assuming the starting position in Andrew Luck‘s absence (abdomen/kidney), who’s been reported to be eyeing a Week 15 return. It’s worth noting Luck reportedly was able to throw this week successfully without any pain which is encouraging for his imminent return.

Otherwise, starting left tackle Anthony Castonzo will once again be out with a knee injury, which means Joe Reitz will once again slide over to left tackle while rookie Denzelle Good will get his 2nd consecutive start at right tackle. Good made a few mistakes last week, but largely held his own and impressed in his 1st career start.

The Colts did get some additional encouraging news this week, as veteran safety Mike Adams (hamstring) was a full participant in Friday’s practice and should assume his starting position. Also, rookie wide receiver Phillip Dorsett (ankle) was a limited participant on Friday, but is likely still at least a week or two from returning.
