The Indianapolis Colts rallied in the fourth quarter for a 24-21 road win against the Atlanta Falcons.

The Colts improved to 3-0 with Matt Hasselbeck under center. A fourth quarter interception return for a touchdown from D’Qwell Jackson tied up the game and the ageless Adam Vinatieri nailed a 43-yard go-ahead field goal for the 24-21 win over the Falcons.

The Colts managed to overcome three turnovers and porous offensive line to pull off the second half rally. It appeared that neither team wanted to take control of today’s game.

Neither team was able to move the ball in the fourth quarter, and a booming punt from Pat McAfee downed at the Falcons one-yard line proved to be the game changer. The first play from the one resulted in Jackson’s interception for a touchdown to tie the game at 21 with 10 minutes left to play.

A four minute drive ending in Vinatieri’s field goal left the Falcons with just under a minute to tie the game. Atlanta had to resort to a hail mary attempt that was inexplicably intercepted by Coby Fleener.

Hasselbeck finished the day completing 23-of-32 pass attempts for 213 yards and two touchdowns. He also threw a pair of interceptions.

Frank Gore ended up being Hasselbeck’s favorite target. Gore hauled in five passes for 46 yards. Ahmad Bradshaw was the recipient of both of Hasselbeck’s touchdown passes.

Defense ended up ruling the day for the Colts as they managed to force four turnovers. Despite 375 total yards of offense and converting on 50 percent of their third down attempts, the Falcons couldn’t consistently find enough points.

The win keeps the Colts atop the AFC South for at least another week as the Colts improved to 5-5. Up next, the Colts host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
